## Transaction and responses

**Role of this check identifier: status message.** This IFTSTA message carries a status field (`antwortstatus`), but its title names neither “response” nor a polarity. It is therefore recorded as a **status message** and not as a response in the sense of a decision tree.

**Forwarding (triangular communication):** The preceding step holds 21012 with the **same** send direction. This message therefore does not answer the sender of the preceding step, it forwards — which is why there is no response sentence here.

**Reference field:** This message carries none of the fields with which a response cites its request (`anfragereferenznummer`, `auftragsReferenz`, `vorgangsreferenznummer`, `anfrageReferenz`). The reference is therefore not in the data of this message: which message is meant follows only from the process, not from the message itself.
